The Dreamers

The Dreamers is a collaborative project created for and during the Walters Art Museum Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Festival. The Youth Dreamers Community Arts Program took two field trips to the museum, discussed how artists are visionaries and often problem solvers, and brainstormed an art project to facilitate at the museum. The three sculptures created out of plaster and cardboard were the framework for museum visitors who were able to contribute to the project by answering the question, “What is your dream?” and adding their dreams to the sculptures.
Collaborators: The Youth Dreamers, the Walters Art Museum, museum staff and visitors.
The Dreamers will be on display at Snug Harbor Cultural Center as part of the show Hope-a-Holic February 13th - April 4th, 2010.
