Creative Alliance                                                                                                                                 2011 - Present

I began working with Creative Alliance as a teaching artist in the Open Minds program in 2011. I wrote and implemented a curriculum with the theme Cultural Legacy: Exploring Community. I worked with students both at Creative Alliance and at Patterson Park Public Charter School. In our first semester, we focused on storytelling as a means of creating culture. Students constructed plaster characters, wrote stories about their characters, designed book covers and discussed oral story telling traditions!
